Sufjan Stevens touring inFebruary
Tue 26th Oct, 2010 in Local News
Sufjan fans rejoice! According to the Adelaide Advertiser the master of Baroque pop and lover of all things tie-dye is coming back to Australia next February.
The news was slipped into a feature about upcoming events in the city of churches, simply stating: “American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens will bring his indie folk-pop style and a full band including woodwind, brass and choir, to the Festival Theatre on February 1.”
Stevens has been hotly rumoured to tour Australia next year in the support of his new album The Age Of Adz, his first song-based album since 2005’s acclaimed Illinois. According to Sufjan’s label, the record features “an extensive use of electronics (banjos and acoustic guitars give way to drum machines and analog synthesizers), and an obsession with cosmic fantasies (space, heaven, aliens, love), to create an explicit pop-song extravaganza”. Sounds perfectly Sufjan really.
No further dates have been announced for Sufjan Stevens’ February visit as of yet, but stay tuned to FasterLouder for updates.
