Raggamuffin 2011 lineup
Mon 18th Oct, 2010 in Local News
This year’s Raggamuffin festival boasted the return of Lauryn Hill, and was set to also include her former Fugees bandmate Wyclef Jean who cancelled his following the Haiti earthquake.
Wyclef’s trip was to be postponed until Raggamuffin 2011, but it seems that despite his failed presidential bid he’s is still too busy in Haiti, so instead the headline slot at next year’s festival will be filled by singer, producer, songwriter and rapper Mary J. Blige.
She’ll be joined by Sean Paul – the most successful Jamaican artist of all-time in the US charts – plus Maxi Priest, The Original Wailers and Jimmy Cliff. Of course a member of the Marley family is also predictably involved with Ky-Mani Marley, the only child of table tennis champion Anita Belnavis and Bob Marley, following the appearances of his siblings Julian Marley and Ziggy Marley
Local support comes from The Black Seeds, The Red Eyes and unannounced hosts and DJs though the posters for the festival warn that the “lineup may change without notice.”
