Mos Def’s first Australianheadline tour
Mon 18th Oct, 2010 in Local News
Mos Def hasn’t toured Australia since supporting DJ Shadow’s 2006 tour, though he was briefly on the bill for 2009’s Hot BBQ festival before mysteriously disappearing from the lineup. But the wait for a Mos Def headline tour is finally over!
He has already been announced to headline Hobart’s Soundscape festival and now there’s run of East Coast sideshows to complete the tour.
Since he last visited us he has continued his acting career playing Chuck Berry in Cadillac Records and staring in Michel Gondry’s Be Kind Rewind and released two new albums – the rushed and hastily released True Magic and last year’s remarkable return to form The Ecstatic. He has also recently collaborated with his Black Star co-conspirator Talib Kweli; Kanye West; Gorillaz; and the Black Keys’ BlakRoc project.
Mos Def headline shows:
Sunday 9th January – The Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Thursday 13th January – The Tivoli Theatre, Brisbane
Friday 14th January – The Palace Theatre, Melbourne
Tickets go on sale Thursday 28th October
