Soundwave supports the CarlyRyan Foundation

In February of this year the Carly Ryan Foundation was established to promote to online safety and support victims of internet crime. Its aim is to support parents and provide vital information about risks involved with online social networks.

The foundation was established by the parents of Carly Ryan who at 15 years of age was murdered by a man who had befriended her, masquerading as a teenage boy on a social networking site. To read more about Carly Ryan’s story head to the foundation’s website here.

This year the Soundwave Festival is getting behind the Carly Ryan Foundation and encouraging fans of the festival to stay informed about this important issue. Tonight from 7:30pm Carly’s mother Sonya Ryan will be the guest on Walk The Plank, the live online chat board on the Soundwave website.
