FReeZA Push Start RegionalFinalists
Wed 29th Sep, 2010 in Local News
Having survived the first round of the FReeZA Push Start Competition, 46 young Victorian bands will now compete in the regional finals for a shot at making the grand final.
Designed to develop the skills of young local musicians, Victoria’s FReeZA Push Start Competition has been giving emerging artists the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of industry professionals since 1995 and has played a part in the emergence of acts such as Kisschasy, The Vasco Era, Airborne and Neon Love.
This year, a total of 260 bands entered the comp, playing against one another across a total of 59 heats. Now, the number of acts has shrunk to 46 for the second stage of the competition, the regional finals, which will run from October through to December across nine separate dates.
If successful in graduating to the final stage of the competition, those selected will be given the opportunity to play at the 2011 Push Over Festival, where they will compete for the grand prize.
