The Lemonheads 'It's A ShameAbout Ray' tour

Just under two decades ago The Lemonheads released their fifth studio album It’s a Shame about Ray. The LP, which was co-written by Tom Morgan from Sydney band Smudge, went on to be the band’s most commercially successful spawning three hit singles in the US alone.

Now, eighteen years since he first cast It’s A Shame About Ray out into the world, Evan Dando is coming back to his self-professed ‘home away from home’ to play it live in its entirety.

This November The Lemonheads will hit our shores to play some very special ‘Don’t Look Back’ style gigs, as well as a selection of fan favourites from the band’s other eight releases.

Last here in solo mode back in 2009, Dando sold out shows and blew his audiences away with performances that reminded fans that this man continues to play music “purely for the love it.”

FasterLouder is very excited to present The Lemonheads performing It’s A Shame About Ray this November:

Tuesday 30th November – The Zoo, Brisbane
Wednesday 1st December – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Thursday 2nd December – Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Sunday 5th December – Rosemount Hotel, Perth

Tickets on sale Thursday October 7

You know when your a kid and you don't understand things properly?

For some reason I thought The Lemonheads were a huge band.
Like Beatles big. No idea why.

Similarly I didn't know know Madonna was the same person. Since she'd been around a long time I assumed the original one (with the cone bra) had died and her daughter who looked exactly like her had taken over the role.

Hahaha! Wouldn't that be amazing, if the role of popstars kept changing - like James Bond?

I didn't know who she was before Ray of Light. Showing my age there, but wotevs.

oh dear, I'm with you braveheart and jbiz. might be a fun gig - I just hadn't listened to Ray for so long I didn't know it had the level of longevity of other 'dont look back' performances

No one has any idea of the amount of FARKEN I feel right now. I'm facebook "friends" with him, and have mentioned my sadness about adelaide.

I've been listening to Ray all week for the first time in ages, before seeing this news.

Should be a lot of fun :)
