A country crooner, a pop legend and three of Australia’s most influential bands will be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame this October.
It was announced on Friday that 60s pop-rock legends The Loved Ones, The Church, Models, Johnny Young and the man that gave us Home Among The Gumtrees, John Williamson will all be become hall-of-famers at a ceremony in Sydney later this year.
The five artists will join the likes of Nick Cave, AC/DC and Paul Kelly in the ARIA Hall Of Fame when they are given the nod at an event to be held at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday, 27 October.
Shunning the usual awards format, this year’s event will be part of a Rockwhiz broadcast on SBS. And as her performance at this year’s APRA awards proved, if any one can liven up an awards ceremony Julia Zemiro can.
