Presets return to headlineMsfest

msfest 2011 will host over 40 acts across four massive stages at Inveresk Park, Launceston on Saturday 26 February.

Promising to offer something for every one “whether you feel like dancing, clubbing, moshing, chill’n or even groovin’”, the festival boasts the live return of The Presets playing the first show since the band’s immense Apocalypso tour.

The electro duo is joined by Birds of Tokyo, Gyroscope and AMP award winner Lisa Mitchell on the mainstage; with festival junkies Art Vs Science headlining the ‘Clubbers’ stage and The Black Seeds and
Ash Grunwald capping the ‘Urban roots stage’.

Despite the strong lineup already announced there’s still more to more, with two high billing main stage acts are simply listed as ‘Coming Soon’ and the second headliner on the club stage is also yet to be revaled.

Aussie music is so good at the moment. Decent lineup.

If they're back at it - Presets will be at BDO for sure!

Been in the mood to see the Presets again, hopefully they'll release their new album soon.

Still, I thought their comment wen they one 'best album' at the arias was hilarious:

"the next album will be a single, 40 mintue, instrumental track"

How about: It's in Tasmania - my understanding is they dont get a lot of festivals down there. So while it may like just more of the same to you, it's good that these bands are playing somewhere outside of Melbourne-Sydney-repeat...

I like a few bands on that lineup, but my post was more in reference to 'i'd fly to tassie for this' and 'aussie music is so strong right now', from people who don't live in Tasmania...

I reckon I'd have a mighty fine time listening to a number of bands from that festival - and they're all Aussie. I am really enjoying Aussie music atm, I think most of the music I listen to is from Aussie artists, which I think is not consistent with other years. I would enjoy seeing all on the main stage, most of the clubbers, and most on the urban roots stage. Yes, you might see these at other festivals - but not all, and I don't go to that many festivals.
In conclusion, for me, in my opinion, I think it's a decent lineup and I think Aussie music is strong at the moment.

I see them whenever I get a chance at festivals or when supporting, but I wouldn't say I'm a true fan of many Australian acts. There's probably only 5-10* that I would actually pay to see headline a gig, and even then if it's over $30 I'll probably give it a miss.

*Despite the fact I am seeing Birds of Tokyo tonight, they are not one of these bands. Making me go to the Convention Centre to see one of my favourite bands for the first time makes me like them even less.

Indeed. Especially when Silversun Pickups >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Birds of Tokyo. Also means they only get 45 minutes. Birds of Tokyo is going to boring as batshit if they're playing heaps of new stuff. It will be bogan central too.

^^I'll pay that, to some extent. The crowd for Deerhunter last year was pretty ace. Metronomy was of a similar standard.
