The Basics head out

Last month Melbourne band The Basics released their fourth album ðə’bæzɪtʃ for free via the band’s website.

The phonetically self-titled LP was recorded in front of a live studio audience at The Northcote Social Club in Melbourne, and sees the band embracing a ‘rockier’ sound whilst taking a step away from the 60’s pop inspired tunes of albums past. To celebrate all things new and free, the band is hitting the road next month and would love for you to come along and join in the party.

As their sound has developed over the years so too has The Basics live show, with one FL reviewer noting at the band’s last Sydney gig, “Fewer are able to bring to the stage a combination of humour, energy and quirky charm as inviting as theirs.”
