Troubadour threatened bydownstairs fire
Mon 20th Sep, 2010 in Local News
One of Fortitude Valley’s long serving venues The Troubadour narrowly escaped serious damage after a fire broke out in downstairs tenant Cosmopolitan Cafe on Thursday.
At one point three fire trucks and a small army of Queensland Fire and Rescue Service personnel were on the ground, seemingly focused on what fire may be in the venue, having ripped off the roller door at the entrance. The origin of the fire was discovered to have been an ingnited flue in Cosmopolitan Cafe’s coffee roaster, with the cafe itself avoiding any serious damage.
Besides a carpetless entrance to the venue, The Troubadour has also avoided substantial damage and the weekend’s shows including The New Christs, HITS and Birdbrain went off without a hitch.
