The Amity Affliction announcedfor Soundwave 2011

Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah announced on Twitter this week that two Australian bands were yet to be announced for Soundwave 2011 – and now the first of that local duo has been confirmed with The Amity Affliction will be joining the lineup for the huge festival lineup.

The news comes as little suprise to fans of the Brisbane post hardcore group, as the band had sparked rumours and speculation when they were recently confirmed as the supports for the British tour by fellow Soundwave 2011 band Asking Alexandria .

This week Bullet For My Valentine announced that they would be playing at the festival We The Kings , Bring Me the Horizon and H20 have have their places on the lineup confirmed by the festival’s organisers. Though sadly Weezer won’t be on the lineup ...

hvh and amity aren't the same blake. however i did see and get sent deaf by hvh @ come together, they put on a good performance but it was mostly of their newer stuff which isn't as good as their old material.

and definately hoping for the getaway plan tyler.

the only good bands on the line up are: maiden, qotsa, primus, gang of four, melvins, the bronx. the majority of the rest of the bands are the same band (generalisation).

I know them because I listen to a fair bit of Australian hardcore and I've checked them out before. They're pretty generic and shit.

And they're pretty well-known/disliked in hardcore and cyber circles for causing/being involved in some shit on the net a while back, acting like rockstars at a few shows, etc.

I did not, nor will I ever, travel anywhere to see that horrid band. My friend saw them support Wish for Wings and said that they had said those exact words about their NZ show.
