Gareth Liddiard tour
Wed 1st Sep, 2010 in Local News
The lucky few that got to witness Gareth Liddiard in solo mode at The Annandale’s 10th Birthday celebrations would know that The Drones’ frontman is more than able to hold his own sans band-mates.
One of Australia’s finest song-writing talents, Liddiard has recently put the finishing touches on his first full length solo album Strange Tourist which quite befittingly was recorded in an isolated mansion half hour out of Yass in rural NSW. In typical Liddiard style the album weaves through complex tales of “down and outers, suicidal Japanese salarymen and suburban radicals”.
With Strange Tourist due out on October 21st, Liddiard is already planning his first full national tour to show off his solo wares.
You can catch Australia’s strangest tourist himself this November:
Friday 5th November – Thornbury Theatre, Melbourne
Thursday 11th November – Grace Emily, Adelaide
Friday 12th November – Sonic Sessions at Fremantle Arts Centre, Fremantle
Saturday 13th November – Mojos, Perth
Wednesday 17th November – Lizottes, Sydney
Thursday 18th November – Lizottes, Sydney
Friday 19th November – Old Museum, Brisbane
Saturday 20th November – Oxford Arts Factory, Sydney
Sunday 21st November – The Clarendon Guesthouse, Blue Mountains
