Guns N’ Roses add extrashows, with Korn

Guns N’ Roses will be in Australia to perform at the V8 Supercar Championship in Sydney and has now confirmed a pair of additional stand alone shows in Townsville and Adelaide.

The tou rwill the band’s first Australian appearance since 2007 and the release of the infamously delayed Chinese Democracy album.

Axl Rose* will be joined on tour by Tommy Stinson on bass, Dizzy Reed on keys, Bumblefoot on guitar, Chris Pitman on keys and bass, DJ Ashba on guitar, Richard Fortus on rhythm guitar and Frank Ferrer on drums.

Nu-metal comeback kids Korn, touring their ninth album Korn III: Remember Who You Are, will open the shows as the support act.

FasterLouder presents Guns N’ Roses, supported by Korn:
Wednesday 1st December – Reid Park, Townsville
Tuesday 7th December – Entertainment Centre, Adelaide

Tickets on sale from Tuesday 7th September

i saw guns and roses at the reading festival this week end and they were awful. they showed up an hour late to there headlining spot and just crap.

ha! thought that might be the case, I'm getting a whole bunch of complaints from ticket holders about various things, was just hoping for the opinion of someone who sees more than one concert a year!

i know it rankles a lot of people how long there is between back up band and when guns n roses hit the stage but honestly i'd have loved an hour and a half between bands at metallica to actually enjoy a leisurely drink or two after fighting the queues at acer arena. Not to get mashed pre-gig as i actually drove but just to relax and not rush around all night for a couple of beers

Metallica came on at 9:15 but i don't think 9:50 is too late for a headlining band to start playing

having said that i know it suks getting home on public transport if a gig finishes an hour later than expected, especially if it's midweek so i symaphise to some extent with those who just want to see the headline band and go home

I'm not looking forward to getting home from GnR on Saturday. The last train is 11:58pm and the last bus is 12:00am

I get what you're saying, but I think 1 hour 50 minutes between a support act leaving the stage and the main band starting is a joke.

That's a ridiculous amount of time to make people wait with no entertainment except whatever music the sound guy wants to play.

I wonder what the published set times were?

I think it is more to do with the fact it is advertised that the main band kicks off at 8.30 that grinds people's gears.

The people that are pissed off the most probably aren't as informed as the rest of us about Axel's antics and his habit of turning up late to every gig.

I quite like the idea of a band keeping you waiting for a bit to build your excitement levels but after 80 minutes I would imagine you would be at the end of your tether.

yeah it is pushing it a bit i concede, especially on a weeknight

but it was no different with them in 1989 when i saw first saw them as an excited teenager so people really should come to expect it cos they ain't going to change in any hurry

in an ideal world every gig would be on a friday or saturday night and no one would overly care if the headline act started at 9 or 10... in fact most would agree 9 is too early i reckon.

the night of the week a gig is on these days influences my decision to even buy tickets far more than it used to

They would have been around 5.30ish I think. For someone who didn't go, I seem to know a fair bit about it!!!!

Gee, I am not that fancy. I do however have one and a half of my front teeth still in tact which my mum, sister and girlfriend are very proud of. So at least I have one person proud of me.....
