No Sleep Til Festival line-up

Click here to win the chance to watch your favourite band side of stage and meet them at No Sleep Til.

Ever since Descendents let slip that they will be in Australia this December, there has been a huge amount of talk about what exactly they are coming for. Finally, after weeks of speculation FasterLouder can reveal that the legendary So-Cal punks are headed down under this December to headline the inaugural No Sleep Til Festival.

No Sleep Til is a brand new national festival that is set to bring you some of the most exciting bands from both the punk and metal worlds. Heading up a huge line-up is seminal thrash-metal overlords Megadeth, who will be playing their classic album Rust In Peace in its entirety to celebrate the record’s 20th anniversary.

As previously mentioned Milo Aukerman and Bill Stevenson will be bringing their band to our shores for the first time in thirty years and joing them will be fellow Califonians NOFX and Me First and The Gimme Gimmes.

If that isn’t enough to get you blood pumping then the addition of shock-rockers GWAR to the bill surely will surely help matters. The self-professed “sickest band in metal history… destined destroyers of not only the human race but also reality itself” are set to release their twelfth studio album Bloody Pit of Horror this November, and are guaranteed to give one of the most disturbing performances Australia has ever seen.

FasterLouder is very excited to present the 2010 No Sleep Til festival:

Attending this with intense levels of excitement.

Descendantsfest rules.

Editing to say tix are 140 bucks, and its a 10 hour event, so i'd think there is like 2 stages?

what????????????
descendents at the arty?????
from the looks of the schedule, it seems melbourne may be the only city to get any sideshows.

I doubt there'll be any sideshows really.

Also, I'd be seriously pissed if I lived in Adelaide or Perth...

Awesome Line up, Im just shattered I knew about the leak. Band Ive been most wanting to be made official was Killswitch and they're the only ones not on it! grrrrr

tyler07

Would not surprise me at all if Killswitch Engage broke up in the near future.
Howard Jones is knocking up porn stars and wasn't on their latest tour, and Adam is writing material with the original singer.

Fuck I hope it's not the case but, I was really looking forward to seeing them on this tour.

The fact that the festival is called 'No Sleep Til Festival' leads me to believe that it is a little less Beastie Boys - No Till Brooklyn and a little more Morris Minor and the Majors - Stutter Rap (No Sleep Til Bedtime).

The conspiracy theorists amongst us might even go so far as to postulate that that missing "l" clearly points to Morris Minor and the Majors being announced as the real headliner over Megadeth.

I wonder what sort of capacity they're gonna have... It's at RNA which is same venue as soundwave which would sell, I dunno, 40,000 tix?

This would have to be a multi stage event yeah or would it be like Loudmouth when it was one stage divided in two for continuous music - BDO mainstage style?

Not to sure how it will work in Adelaide - unless they are using both venues at the AEC?

tyler07

tyler07 said on the 25th Aug, 2010

So does anybody know if there is a second announcement for this or?
I'm kinda hoping not, im expecting very minimal clashes considering the only metal act I would want to see is Parkway Drive and maybe Suicide Silence.

I still want a reason as to why Killswitch Engage aren't on this...

And I think this fest also means Weezer/H20/Polar Bear Club are shoe-in's for SW...

mooney88

mooney88 said on the 26th Aug, 2010

but seriously. Rust In Peace. Incredible

tyler07

tyler07 said on the 26th Aug, 2010

So, looks like no Megadeth for Tyler.

tyler07

tyler07 said on the 27th Aug, 2010

Am posting to say I'm more than happy to spend 140 of my dolla-dolla-billz just to see descendants.
The best part of this festival is I want to see pretty much exactly half the lineup, and none of the metal really. So clashes will be minimal, and providing it is 20 bands/2 stages, that's 14 bucks a band...

mungbean

mungbean said on the 27th Aug, 2010

i'm comparing to the likes of soundwave and bdo for money worth-ness. and i won't see all 20 bands

Braveheart81

Braveheart81 said on the 27th Aug, 2010

Surely value for money is represented by what you can see actually see during a festival compared to what is available to see.

Having 6 stages and 150 bands is not necessarily better than having 2 stages and 20 bands.

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.

tyler07

tyler07 said on the 27th Aug, 2010

You will see 10 bands at this fest, you will see 10 maybe 12 max at BDO/SW.
Stop crying and go listen to 'Milo goes to college'
