If ever there was a year that we expected Aunty to come through with the goods, then this is it. In 2010 Meredith Music Festival turns twenty and to celebrate two decades of music, Pink Flamingoes and running naked in the bush, Aunty M has curated a line-up that will please Meredith faithful both young and old.
Where to start? As previously announced, come December the Dirty Three will be returning to the Nolan Farm to recreate the magic of Meredith’s past, and joining them will be 90s indie pop heroes Custard who are also making a triumphant return to the Amphitheatre (and performing their first show in Victoria in over ten years)!
If that isn’t enough nostalgia to make the eyes water, The Dead Salesman Duo (who performed at the first Meredith back in 1991) and legendary Melbourne rockers Hoss (who performed at the second Meredith in 1992) will both be back for the Festival’s 20th as well.
Check out The Dead Salesman Duo playing the first ever Meredith:
From old-timers to first-timers, the international line-up is chock full of artists making their very first trips to Australia. Giving the cardigan brigade a lot to be excited about UK indie icons Broadcast will be visiting our shores for the first time in their 15 year history. And in an absolute “coup de Art” hip-hop legends Clipse will be tearing the Amphitheatre down with a Friday night slot at Meredith 2010.
There is simply too much goodness to talk about, so without further do here is the full line-up for the 20th Meredith Music Festival :
