New Australian supergroup

2010 has been a good year for fans of Australian singer/songwriters. First Kav Temperley (Eskimo Joe), Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans, Jebediah), Steve Parkin (Vinyl and Autopiolot), and Josh Pyke formed the Basement Birds, now a new group of local songbirds (sorry!) has announced that they are teaming up for a collaborative record.

Sarah Blasko, Sally Seltmann and Holly Throsby have confirmed the rumours by revealing on Twitter that they are working on as yet untitled supergroup project in New York.

Throsby was the first to announce that “@sarahblasko and @sallyseltmann and I have started a band and we are making an album in New York. Today is recording day number two.”

The news was quickly followed by comments from Blasko: “News today is @hollythrosby, @SallySeltmann and I are in NYC making an album. They’re 5 minutes quicker at tweeting and I’m scared!” and Seltmann: “I’m in New York recording an album with @sarahblasko and @hollythrosby. Feeling the heat!”
