Mon 9th Aug, 2010 in Local News
Coopers Alive returns for a third year with 25 of SA’s hottest acts taking to the stage at 8 venues over 4 nights in October
The event presents a select group of South Australia’s best original musical acts, from a variety of genres including indie rock, hip hop, acoustic, post rock, groove, and heavy metal.
The artists participate in a series of workshops provided by Music SA, which focus on the crucial aspects of creating and facilitating successful live events. Each show is provided with a marketing and production budget courtesy of Coopers Brewery and The Australian Business Arts Foundation, which the artists use to create unique, one-time only shows. Previous shows have incorporated live audio and video recordings, concert lighting and video projections, guest DJs, street art, dance groups, and even geek themed party nights.
Coopers Alive is a project partnership between Music SA and Coopers Brewery. The event promotes live performance, skills development, industry experience and knowledge – to support and inspire original South Australian Artists, and lovers of live music. The aim of the project is to encourage artists to actively participate in planning, promoting and evaluating their live performances, as well as providing an entertaining and creative opportunityfor all music-lovers to enjoy.
