Peter Hook extends his JoyDivision tour

With shows announced in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne reportedly “selling fast” Peter Hook’s Unknown Pleasures tour has expanded to include shows in Adelaide and Perth.
The tour features the founding member of Joy Division and New Order ( and sometime DJ ) playing a celebration of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures album with an unnamed cast of friends.
The Guardian described Hook’s performance at the Shoreditch Festival, with his son Jack and Happy Mondays vocalist Rowetta, as a “goosebump-inducing highlight of the entire day” but Hook has also faced strong opposition to the shows.
As he told NME after one show: “Now some people will say, like they did about this show, that you shouldn’t do it and then a lot of people are thinking that you should do it. So it was nice that we had a club full of people tonight who think we should be doing it and the others can just fuck off.”
Peter Hook’s Unknown Pleasures tour:
Friday 24th September – Palais Theatre, Melbourne
Saturday 25th September – The Enmore, Sydney
Monday 27 September – Tivoli, Brisbane
Tuesday 28th September – Her Majesty’s Theatre, Adelaide
Thursday 30th September – Astor Theatre, Perth.
Tickets for the new shows go on sale Friday 13th August
