Peats Ridge Festival line-up
Mon 9th Aug, 2010 in Local News
If you’re keen to escape the city rabble this New Years Eve, Peats Ridge Festival may just be the ticket. Boasting three days of music in the idyllic surrounds of Glenworth Valley, this year’s line-up is a diverse musical treat indeed.
Heading up the bill are indie legends Built To Spill, who until 2008 had never even made their way to Australia. Now with their superb new album There Is No Enemy out in the world the Idaho lads are headed back to our shores to remind us how the big boys do it. Also returning to out shores for a bit of Peats action is FL favourite and all round nice guy Lightspeed Champion and Canadian rockers Born Ruffians
The local line-up isn’t too shabby either, with brother and sister duo Angus & Julia Stone, Kate Miller-Heidke and PVT all making a new years appearance at Peats.
The Peats Ridge Festival experience is about much more than the music. As the festival’s ringleader told FasterLouder in 2009, “What makes a festival is when the sun goes down and the place really comes alive. You’re creating an alternate reality for people at a festival – an opportunity to step out of their everyday lives.”
Peats Ridge Festival runs from 29 December to 1 January in Glenworth Valley.
