Thu 5th Aug, 2010 in Local News
The all important question about which guests will be joining Gorillaz on stage in December can now be answered, with the confirmation that De La Soul, Hypnotic Brass, Bobby Womack, the Syrian National Orchestra of Arabic Music, Bootie Brown, Little Dragon and Rosile Wilson will all be making the trip to Australia to join the band on tour.
Recent guests at Gorilliaz live shows including Mos Def, Gruff Rhys and Shaun Ryder have not been confirmed for the tour, though more guests will be announced soon.
The Gorillaz live band includes Damon Albarn, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon from The Clash, Mike Smith, Cass Browne, Jeff Wootton and Gabriel Manuals Wallace, as well as additional backing singers, brass sections and a full string ensemble.
The live show is a wild and organic experience – now filled with added human interaction – as the Gorillaz band holding things down behind many featured artists and video animation, artwork and stage design by Gorillaz director and collaborator Jamie Hewlett.
