Fans of The Temper Trap may have to wait until 2012 before hearing a new album from the band.

Drummer Toby Dundas has told NME that “album two is still way off in the distance. We’re going to start seriously writing it early next year so it might make it out next year, but it could easily drag on until 2012 before it actually comes out.”

“We don’t want to rush it,” Dundas explained. “There’s all that pressure that comes with the second album. We want to make something we’re really proud of before we share it with everyone.”

So it seems that punters are unlikely to hear many new songs in the sets as The Temper Trap play at Splendour and sideshows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

Though The Temper Trap hasn’t been writing new material, the band has been kept busy in 2010 with international touring – Check out the band’s festival tour diary
