Klaxons Australian tour dates
Tue 20th Jul, 2010 in Local News
After a thundering rise to prominence which saw them court dancefloors across the world with their wiry dance-punk sounds and incite a whole new dubiously named genre, new-rave heroes Klaxons have bounced back in 2010 with a breathlessly anticipated new album, Surfing The Void, due out on August 20th. The love isn’t stopping there however, as just a fortnight following the album’s release date, Klaxons will land in Australia for a scarce couple of live dates.
Touching down in the first week of September, Klaxons will pay Australian listeners a whirlwind visit, blessing us with just two exclusive shows in Sydney and Melbourne before heading back overseas to do more promotional shows for Surfing The Void.
The news of the tour should please local fans who’ve been hankering for more juice from Klaxons since the UK indie collective’s last tour as a part of local label Modular’s 2008 festival bash, Nevereverland, when the group were still fresh on their Myths Of The Near Future material.
In the time off of course, the lads have scrapped whole albums and shacked up with producer Ross Robinson – at the helm of discs from Blood Brothers, At The Drive-In and even Sepultura – for Surfing The Void, the latest cut of which – Echoes – finds Klaxons half-way between a Tatooine peyote trip and a Mad Max outtake.
The new clip for Echoes is below along with the dates for the Klaxons mini-tour.
Klaxons Australian tour dates:
Thursday 2nd September – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Friday 3rd September – Palace Theatre, Melbourne
Tickets are on sale Thursday 29th July
