Freshly home from a debut American tour supporting MGMT and playing sold out headline shows of their own in NYC, LA and Chicago, Perth’s Tame Impala have announced an Australian tour in October.

FasterLouder’s reviewer likened band’s debut album InnerSpeaker to “60s/70s psych and prog rock where melody in both the vocals and instruments is central to the music. There are retro overtones to most of the tracks but they have a modern sheen across them that subdues any overt recycling of past decades.”

The band’s live shows have been received almost as rapturously as the album, with FasterLouder’s reviewer noting that the live performances on the album release tour were “a crowning moment for the band”.

After a homecoming show at Splendour In The Grass, the band will circle Australia and then continue on its world beating way, touring European and returning for an encore lap of the US late in the year.
