Young Heretics interview YoungHeretics

Melbourne’s Young Heretics are on the road this July to show off tunes from their debut album We Are The Lost Loves.

In a live setting the band utilises a full touring band, which enables the songwriting duo of Kitty Hart and Matthew Wright to bring their complex layers of music to life.

The band kicked off the national tour with a show in Sydney on the weekend and the Kitty Hart and Matthew Wright took a moment to interview each other for FasterLouder.

Kitty Hart: Favourite scene in your favourite film?
Matthew Wright: The church scene in 28 Days Later. The soundtrack for that movie is amazing as well.

MW: Your biggest dream?
KH: That we lived in a world devoid of animal cruelty and that people had more empathy for one another.

KH: Favourite childhood memory?
MW: When we took the hose inside and tried to make a pool in the living room. It didn’t work very well but we both thought it was endlessly funny.

MW: Your favourite manga artist?
KH: Ai Yazawa. The Risk/Loss video was my homage to her wonderful manga – Paradise Kiss.

KH: Favourite instrument?
MW: Rhodes Piano.

MW: Favourite Instrument?
KH: Waterphone or Harp.

MW: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
KH: With you, Krips and Johnny Fong in a little cottage with a huge garden that never ends.

KH: How does that sound?
MW: That sounds perfect, I am bringing Taco (puppy).

MW: Favourite food?
KH: Vegan marshmallows and maple syrup, together.

KH: Your favourite food?
MW: A quesadilla from Trippy Taco followed by the chocolate/marshmallow cookies from Las Vegan.
