Brisbane Sounds have a great alternative available for those who aren’t able to catch the glut of fine Australian acts at Splendour. Valley Calling brings some Australian talent to The Zoo for a punk filled night.
Co-headlining the night will be Melbourne folk-punk 6 piece The Go Set (helping launch their live album, Live From Melbourne Town), alongside Brisbane’s very own ska-punk rock legends Blowhard. Local supports include The Brixton Rockers, getting back to punk rock roots with influences including The Clash, The Ramones and Stiff Little Fingers; The Prettyboys who were triumphed by FasterLouder’s very own Brittles as “mohawk destroying music…well practiced, tight and almost impossible to faulter”. ; and Hits, bringing together musicians from local favourites Butcher Birds and Los Huevos to give punters a chance to hear one of the hardest hitting rock and roll acts around.
Valley Calling is at the The Zoo, July 30th 2010, with tickets available from www.oztix.com.au for $12+bf, or on the door for $15.
