The Globe Theatre is holding a very special Cultural Heritage Trust Community Benefit Event, Rock the Regent! this Thursday, Saturday and Sunday night to save the Regent Theatre, located in the Queen St Mall, Brisbane, with special acts including Wolfmother, Katie Noonan and Edward Guglielmino & The Show
Recently the Regent Theatre has been the subject of a new development speculation to convert what remains of the historic and cultural landmark into an office block.
All proceeds from the Benefit will go towards setting up a Community Heritage Trust, to not only Save the Regent, but to establish a future fighting fund to save Brisbane’s heritage venues, community culture and support emerging bands, artists & performers.
In addition, the Benefit hopes to raise the profile of the Brisbane Music Scene and hopefully save The Regent as a venue for live variety entertainment, touring music concerts and theatre productions, taking the place of Festival Hall, as well as retaining its role as Brisbane’s premiere picture palace.
To show your support for The Regent and saving Brisbane’s cultural landmarks, head along to the gigs this weekend.
