Pixies Splendour warm up gig

Though the Pixies gig at Splendour was billed as an Australian exclusive show the band has added a very special sideshow/warm-up gig in Brisbane to its tour schedule.

Saturday 31 July – The Zoo

Tickets for the show go on sale on Thursday 15th July.

This is pretty damn cool, if I lived in Brissy I'd be there like a Nun on a cucumber field but I've seen them twice already (2007 & 2010), so I think I have had my fair share.

That would have to be close to the most expensive gig the Zoo has ever hosted in terms of ticket prices.

go easy on those cucumbers alex. promoters always detour brisbane when festivals are nearby. up until few weeks ago there were no sideshows announced for bris. we also miss out on the strokes, alberta cross, mumford and sons, florence

mmm might be in on this one. i am also irritated that they dont generally do splendour sideshows in brisbane. every year splendour sells out in a flash so there are always many people left over who are keen to check out the touring bands.

Bumping because tickets are going on sale tomorrow and i'm really excited for both seeing the Pixies and seeing g-mizzle in the flesh!

Who will support this gig? Please be some sweet Splendour artist like say Foals or We Are Scientists.

PS - Gareth my brother, I will be attending this gig with my close friend Nathan who i'm sure you're familiar with. See you at the bar!

has anyone seen anything where it's confirmed that it'll be a 3 hour set? The gf is thinking about leaving Splendour to go to the Zoo show, but wants to confirm it'll be worth the massive trouble she'll have to go through to do that...

The Zoo's calendar doesn't list a support (at the moment) dude. Make of that what you will.

TBH, I'm still undecided whether 1 1/2 hours of Pixies will be any good, let alone three hours of Frank fucking sulking about.

EDIT: Well, that took all of 0.0001 of a second to sell out.

The Eagles add an extra zero to the ticket price.

took the morning off work. clicked the button at 1 second past nine - knew i'd missed out! i reckon they could have sold that gig out at 3 times the price! disapointed because i've been trying to get my dad to go to a proper rock concert for years (i mean years!). finally got him to agree to see the pixies in march, but he fell ill. he's better (for now) and thought - yeah! your comin' dad!

but alas :-(
