WAM Song of the Year 2010 open

WAM is now taking entries for the 2010 Song of the Year award. Songwriters who want to take their career to the next level are urged to enter their song(s) into one of the sixteen categories. This year’s categories include:

Genre Categories
Rock
Pop
Experimental
Heavy
Blues and Roots
Electronic/Dance
Urban
Country
Jazz
World and Folk
Special Categories:
Love (falling in/out)
Mentally Healthy
Bonus Categories:
Outstanding Regional
Outstanding Indigenous
School Age Categories:
14 and below
15-17 years

The Grand Prize winner will receive $5,000 cash, a three day recording session at Poons Head Recording Studio, a mastering session with James Hewgill Music and the pressing of 500 CDs by Diskbank. Category winners will take home $500 and one day’s recording. Last year’s winners included Sugar Army, Minute 36, Voyager, and Tangled Thoughts of Leaving.

This year, a Most Popular Song vote will be held in September and October.
