Novocaines and Capital Citysupport The Soft Pack

The Soft Pack have announced that The Novocaines and Capital City will be their WA supports when they crush The Rosemount with their no-frills, punk-inspired pop on the last gig of their first Australian tour next weekend.

2009 was a pivotal year for the Novocaines. The band was unearthed by Triple J after releasing Cup Of Coffee on vinyl, and tours followed with The Fumes, Yves Klein Blue, Kram , Calling All Cars, You Am I and The Philadelphia Grand Jury rave reviews rolled in after every show. In August they released the Ragdoll EP and sold out the Amplifier Bar and three pressings of the CD within weeks of its release. Soon after, they signed to Premier Artists, and got some more Triple J love in November as a Next Crop artist.

After a quiet last six months, scuzz/punk/rockers Capital City have just released their second album Keep It Stupid, Sucker. It was produced by Dave Parkin (Snowman, Sugar Army) just prior to the recent departure of second-guitarist Kate Mills. The band, ( Sam Scherr, Chris Pierucci and Jake Snell ) have just returned from the CMJ Music Marathon in New York -the only WA band in a handful of Australian acts playing.
