Metallica's tour supports

Metallica’s official website has listed progressive metal group Baroness and thrash metal icons Lamb of God as the support acts for the October concerts on the Australian leg of the Death Magnetic world tour.

Summing up Lamb Of God’s Melbourne show late last year, FasterLouder’s reviewer reported that “Lamb Of God were fully loaded on their ammunition of thrash speed, and progressive metal. Not holding back, they played an intense set full of crowd favourites (both old and new). The guitars were fast and tight, Randy Blythe’s vocals were strong, the circle in the pit was getting bigger and wider and people went completely nuts.”

Baroness also impressed when the band toured with the Soundwave festival earlier this year, as FasterLouder’s reviewer explained “It’s pretty tough to get bored when a band is emulating Ozzy one moment, Metallica the next, then throws in some crunching psychedelia for good measure.”

Following the pair of September shows, Metallica will head to Japan for two concerts before returning to Australia, via New Zealand, with Baroness and Lamb of God for the sold out run of October dates.

The supports for Metallica’s two Australian shows in September – which go on general sale at 9am Friday 25th June – have not yet been announced.
