New Cut Copy album due out inJanuary

Melbourne electro-pop trio Cut Copy are set to release their as-yet-unnamed third album next January.
The Modular darlings’ self-produced LP was recorded in a Melbourne warehouse, and is currently being mixed by Ben Allen (Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective)
It will be Cut Copy’s first effort since 2008’s rapturously-received In Ghost Colours, which FL’s reviewer described as “an emotional rush from beginning to end, delivering way more than we’ve come to expect from the indie/electro movement.”
The band’s newest work reportedly showcases a more progressive sound, with many songs the product of extended jams, and even word of a soul choir and string section.
“It was a much more open-ended process,” frontman Dan Whitford told NME recently. “There’s more of a repetitive, hypnotic, rhythmic aspect to a lot of the tracks.”
