Though Rancid will not be on the lineup for Soundwave 2011 , Welsh post-hardcore group The Blackout has confirmed a place at the festival.
Making the announcement via Twitter, the band commented “Enough of the soppy shit! Australia, what you doing next February/march? Going to soundwave? Cool, so are we! We Cannot wait to come back! X”
The band toured Australia in March, supporting fellow Welshmen Lostprophets, and according to FasterLouder’s reviewer in Melbourne the band “had people going nuts from the minute their set started [with a] melodic, post-hardcore sound, and the insane dual vocals provided by Sean Smith and Gavin Butler.
The Blackout’s third album, tentatively titled Dog Porn, is due for release in early 2011.
