This year one of Brisbane’s favourite celebrations of music, fashion, food and art Valley Fiesta is set to join forces with Q Music’s internationally renowned music industry platform Big Sound.
Controlling the amalgamation of two such musical brutes is sure to be a job-and-a-half, luckily though, the Brisbane City Council has enlisted the guiding hand of event and production super-coach Strut & Fret. The firm’s Creative Director Scott Maidment is excited by the challenge.
“In joining with Big Sound, we hope to develop this great local event into a national and international platform for Australian musicians as well as a great opportunity for Queenslanders to experience some of the best music and entertainment this country has to offer,”.
With a CV boasting references including Brisbane Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe and Future Music Festival, Valley Fiest*’s new guardian is clearly qualified and ready for it’s 3 year appointment.
“Having been at Valley Fiesta and produced events in the Valley for the past 15 years, I’m really excited to be in a position where, after having gained the experience of traveling to and participating in national and international festivals, we can now steer Valley fiesta in a new direction over the next three years,”.
Valley Fiesta 2010 is set to further liven the streets and venues of Brisbane music’s super-suburb September 10 – 12.
More information including the first line-up announcement is promised shortly.
