The Smashing Pumpkins to tourAustralia in 2010

The Smashing Pumpkins latest Twitter update confirms that the band will be touring Australia in 2010.

There are no official dates announced, but the update reveals that “The Pumpkins also plan to tour South America and Australia in 2010.” A follow up tweet from the band promises that a “Full press release [will be] coming soon”

The Australian tour seems likely to happen in August after Billy Corgan and his new Smashing Pumpkins bandmates play at the Summersonic festival in Japan.

The newest incarnation of the Smashing Pumpkins features the newly recruited bassist Nicole Fiorentino who is a former member Veruca Salt and Spinnerette.

Anyone remember that episode of The Simpsons where Bart and Marge face Lisa and Homer in tennis, until all of them are replaced by the Williams sisters, Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras?

I would like to see something of a similar matter happen at an SP show.

i just think back to v festival headliner. the crowd just started walking away and out the gates while corgan was playing. i walked out as soon as he started playing solo accoustics.

And the hat!

Back in 2008 at V Festival he did the whole KKK-esque cape thing! This version sounded like he was some amateur singing in the shower... Eh, I hope that they get their shit together as that drummer looks like he should be back in High School in the school band.
