Fri 28th May, 2010 in Local News
Following the rapid sale of tickets for Mark Lanegan’s Melbourne performance, a second Melbourne show will be taking place on Friday 9 July at The Esplanade Hotel’s Gershwin Room.
This will be Lanegan’s first solo appearance since 2004, will see him perform songs from his notable back catalogue which includes time spent with Screaming Trees and Queens of The Stone Age.
Though his most recent solo album, Bubblegum was released back in 2004 he has been involved in many collaborations since.
In the second half of the last decade Lanegan released two albums with former Belle and Sebastian member Isobel Campbell – Ballad of the Broken Seas and Sunday at Devil Dirt – and featured heavily on two albums with the English group Soulsavers.
Lanegan also toured Australia last year, playing at Splendour in the Grass with Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli as the Gutter Twins.
To make way for the second Melbourne date Mark Lanegan’s Adelaide performance originally scheduled to take place at Fowler’s Live has been cancelled. Ticket holders should seek a refund from their original point of purchase.
