Ska Weekender venue change
Fri 28th May, 2010 in Local News
The first leg of Sydney’s inaugural Ska Weekender festival, happening on Saturday 5th June, has been relocated due to circumstances beyond organisers’ control.
Originally scheduled for the Bald Faced Stag, this first day of the weekend-long ska and reggae-fest will now take place at Hermann’s Bar, Sydney University.
All pre-sold tickets are still valid for entry, while the show’s timeslot and band roster have not changed. Detailed directions and a description of the new venue can be found at www.hermannsbar.com.au.
Saturday’s festivities will showcase a number of Australian ska and reggae bands, featuring the likes of King Cannons and Chris Duke and the Royals. They will be followed on Sunday by a midday harbour cruise from Pyrmont Bay Wharf, with three bands covering albums from Less Than Jake, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Strung Out. The event then wraps up with a free evening show from Ebolagoldfish, Heartbreak Club and Steel City Allstars, at The Townie in Newtown.
