Wed 26th May, 2010 in Local News
The debut tour of London based collective Fanfarlo will now include two Australian headline performances in addition to an appearance at Splendour.
Fanfarlo fuse elements of folk, indie rock and post punk into a sound David Bowie has described as “delicious melancholia”.
The band’s debut album Reservoir, recorded over a month and a half with Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) at his home studio in Connecticut, is due for an Australian release on Friday 18 June.
Using eclectic instrumentation including trumpet, violin, mandolin, musical saw and clarinet, the band lead by the Swedish-born Simon Balthazar will perform two headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne after playing at
Splendour in the Grass.
Fanfarlo Splendour sideshows:
Monday 2nd August – Gaelic Club, Sydney
Thursday 5 August – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
