While many punters in Perth bemoan the lack of Splendour in the Grass sideshows that head across to the west the pain is set to be relieved with the imminent announcement of the On the Brightside festival.

Ben O’Shea, the editor of the West Australian’s entertainment magazine The Wire, has tweeted seemingly confirming the rumours of a Perth edition of the Splendour in the Grass festival.

“It’s real!” O’Shea excitedly announced. “On the Brightside: Strokes, Mumford&Sons, Band of Horses, TingTings & more 24/07 Supreme Crt Gdns. Get tix 28/05 WILL SELL OUT”

While the festival has not yet been officially announced this is certainly a promising sign for Perth’s music fans.
