The distinctive growl of former Screaming Trees and Queens Of The Stone Age singer Mark Lanegan returns to Australia in July for a solo tour.
Since mid-eighties Lanegan’s distinctive growl has been heard at the front of grunge heavyweights Screaming Trees and as a lead vocal on the Queens Of The Stone Age albums Rated R, Songs For The Deaf and Lullabies To Paralyze.
Though his most recent solo album, Bubblegum was released back in 2004 he has been involved in many collaborations since.
In the second half of the last decade Lanegan released two albums with former Belle and Sebastian member Isobel Campbell – Ballad of the Broken Seas and Sunday at Devil Dirt – and featured heavily on two albums with the English group Soulsavers.
Lanegan also toured Australia last year, playing at Splendour in the Grass with Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli as the Gutter Twins, but the gigs in July will be Lanegan’s first solo Australian dates since 2004.
