More acts added for Vivid LIVE

Vivid LIVE curators Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed have announced a series of additions to the festival.

Guitarist, and regular Tom Waits collaborator, Marc Ribot has been added to the lineup with his Latin American influenced ‘Border Music’ show, featuring a stellar line up that also includes David Hidalgo and Cougar Estrada from Los Lobos.

Four Australian acts have been added to the ‘Noise Night’ line-up with locals Oren Ambarchi, Rice Corpse, The Night Terrors and Zond joining Boris, Bardo Pond and Melt-Banana at the ear splitting showcase.

The previously announced Holly Miranda, My Brightest Diamond and King Khan & BBQ Show have all added second shows to their Vivid season.

During the festival Reed will also be joined by legendary producer Hal Willner to co-present a series of live radio broadcasts, featuring jazz to vintage rock, and everything in between.

A series of one-hour events Vivid LIVE at Lunchtime will give audiences an insight into the careers and musical influences of Oren Ambarchi, Eyvind Kang, Jessica Kenny, Colin Stetson, Skúli Sverrisson and Laurie Anderson’s male alter-ego – Fenway Bergamot.

Anderson has also added a “20-minute canine composition” titled Music for Dogs to her schedule. This free event promises to take the dog whistle to new artistic heights offering “a glorious cacophony of sound” only audible to dogs.

Tickets for additional events go on-sale Friday 14th May.
