GoredoFest: A Very MetalBirthday
Fri 27th May, 2005 in Local News
What started out as a simple birthday bash has quickly escalated into one of the biggest local Heavy Metal shows that the country will see all year.
GoredoFest started out as an idea for a party to celebrate the birthday of Sydney Metal fan Goredo. The idea was to book a small Sydney venue and get three of his favourite bands to play. However as word of the show spread, more and more bands were putting their hands up wanting to be involved so what could he do but keep adding to the bill?! After a month of constant additions, Goredo finally decided to throw out any notions involving the word ‘small’ and he went ahead and booked the Gaelic Club in Surry Hills.
The bill for the show now includes some of the best Metal and Metalcore acts from all over the country including international sucess story The Amenta who will be playing one of their first ever live shows despite having had their album praised as one of 2004 best metal releases and coming second in Terrorizer Magazine’s Best New Artist Poll. So instead of being a quiet birthday bash GoredoFest has turned into a festival sized event boasting Metal from Midday to Midnight. Now that’s a party!
GoredoFest at the Gaelic Club – 16th of July. Featuring: The Amenta, Walk the Earth, Infernal Method, Vaticide, Flesh Mechanic, Switchblade, Inane Eminence, Lynchmada, Omerata, Aeturnus Dominion, Rather Be Dead and Coma Lies.
