Vivid LIVE festival additions

Lou Reed and his wife, experimental performance artist Laurie Anderson, have made some very exciting additions to the line up for the Vivid LIVE program for 2010.

The highlights in the second round lineup include bands at either end of the sound spectrum – which will be celebrated with a ‘Noise Night’ and a ‘Slow Music Night’.

On the quieter side the festival will welcome Brooklyn-based indie singer Holly Miranda who has just released her Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio) produced debut; Emily Haines [pictured] performing an evening of Metric and solo songs with a string quartet; and The Blind Boys of Alabama who will perform with guests including the host Lou Reed.

Doveman, who has collaborated with The National, Martha Wainwright and David Byrne will also be part of the ‘Slow Music Night’.
Anderson has also added a show to her curatoring duties, and will perform Songs from ‘Delusion’ with Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio and Tom Waits collaborators Evyind Kang, Colin Stetson and Doug Weiselman.

The festival will also host include the Australian premiere of Reed’s debut film Red Shirley as part of an eight hour marathon of film, live music and spoken word curated by internationally renowned film maker and artist Bill Morrison.

These acts join the already announced acts including Rickie-Lee Jones, Boris, King Khan & BBQ Show and My Brightest Diamond on the festival lineup.
