Common returns to Australia in June for his first Australian tour since the 2006 Big Day Out.

Common is widely respected as one of hip hops foremost lyricists with tracks such as I Used to Love H.E.R. and The Light and classic albums One Day It’ll All Make Sense Like Water For Chocolate, the eclectic Electric Circus and the Kanye West produced Be.

Since his last visit to Australia, Common has released his sixth and seventh albums, Finding Forever and Universal Mind Control, and furthered his second career as an actor with roles in Smokin’ Aces, American Gangster and Date Night.

He is joined on the tour by DJ Kid Capri who has produced tracks for Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Slick Rick; toured with Diddy, LL Cool J, Nas, Lil Kim, Jay-Z, Usher, R. Kelly and Mary J Blige; and spun his records at private parties for Justin Timberlake, Ludacris and even Martha Stewart.

Announcing the tour Common declared that “This tour has been long overdue and I can’t wait to deliver a Hip Hop experience they will never forget. And with Kid Capri on the tour, this will be a show they don’t want to miss.”
