Today the University of Canberra announced it is hosting a free concert headlined by Evermore and Blue King Brown as part of the upcoming MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY Road Trip.

One thousand young ambassadors from across Australia will embark on the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY road trip next month, designed to raise awareness of global poverty.

Ambassadors will host forums and stage meetings with regional and national MPs from 8-15 May. The week-long campaign will see young people speaking face-to-face with over one hundred thousand Australians.

“They’ll be sharing a very simple message – that poverty can be ended,” says Tom O’Connor, CEO of The Oaktree Foundation, one of the organisations behind the road trip.

“Australia can and should do more. We can do our fair share by investing just 70 cents from every $100 of our national income in effective aid solutions.”

The ambassadors will converge on Canberra from May 12-14 for a three-day summit, which will culminate with the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY CONCERT at the University of Canberra Refectory, on Friday 14 May.

The free concert will be headlined by two huge names in Australian Music – Evermore and Blue King Brown. Joining them on the stage will be Bonjah, Diafrix, Zoophyte, Vox Congo and local lads Hancock Basement, with more acts to follow.

Details on how you can secure a ticket will be announced soon.

The road trip is being run by MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY, a coalition of more than 60 aid organisations including World Vision, Oxfam, and the youth-run Oaktree Foundation and is supported by the Australian Government and AUSAID.
