After being awarded $10,000 as part of the Smirnoff Promoters Grant Scheme, Brisbane’s Josh Collings and Trevor Topfer are now ready to put their event Trailer Trash – an attempt to bring contemporary art to new audience through a unique nightlife experience – into action.
Taking place in a secret Brisbane location Sat 24th April, the event will see a collision of art and music. Throughout the evening a diverse selection of artists will adapt a range of techniques to paint dilapidated caravans, turning the unappealing into the appealing and attempting to identify major qualities of ‘The Trash Generation’.
Illustrating their artistic expertise on the caravans will be International and Queensland based artists – Lucks, Kitty Horton, Benjamin Reeve, Gus, My Mo, Xxi, Keiron McMaster, Shida, George.
Supporting the artists through providing the evenings audio (with possibly some visual) entertainment will be the self-proclaimed ‘Electro-Folk’ duo Jackson Jackson, esteemed turntabilist Sampology and Brisbane resident DJ Hutch.
Tickets for Trailer Trash – with only 500 allocated – can be purchased through OZTIX for for $38.50.
With what can only be described as a unique agenda set down for the evening, it will be interesting to see how the caravans end up.
