Help Shape the Future of LiveMusic in Canberra - time isrunning out!
Mon 12th Apr, 2010 in Local News
Last month we highlighted the current ACT Government inquiry into Live Community Events in Canberra.
You still have time to make a contribution to the inquiry and have your voice heard – but not much time! Submissions will likely close mid-late April.
Andrew Mottram, creator of the Facebook group, I Want to Help Canberra’s Music Scene!, says; “Thanks to everyone who’s joined the group! There are now over a thousand like-minded, music loving and politically activated members showing their support for Canberra’s music scene. This is good good news!”
Make sure your voice is also heard on live community events in Canberra. At FasterLouder we believe the social value of live music events, whether at Transit Bar, University of Canberra, Tuggeranong Youth Centre, Bar 32 or the Canberra Theatre, outweighs the potential noise issues for residents living close to these venues. It’s a very important part of the social fabric of this city.
Head to the Legislative Assembly’s website to check out all of the submissions currently posted and get more information on how you can make a submission.
Submissions to the inquiry can be lodged with the Committee Secretary, Ms Nicola Derigo, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Submissions should include your full name, postal address and telephone number. Don’t worry, they won’t put your contact details up on the net for everyone to see.
Remember, submissions are easy to make. They don’t need to be long or technical.
As Editor, I’ve made my submission, make sure you make yours too.
