30 Seconds to Mars tour

Fully recovered from being glassed by Spank Rock at the MTV Awards and having finally released an epic third album, Jared Leto is returning to Australia this July to perform a short run of dates with 30 Seconds To Mars.

The band’s most recent album This Is War ,which Leto has revealed is a step away from the bands darker work of albums past and focuses more on “faith [and ]spiritual matters”, has already sparked the smash single Kings and Queens.

Last down under in early 2007 to show off tunes from their sophomore album A Beautiful Lie, the band received praise for their energetic live shows at which – according to one FasterLouder reviewer – Leto had the “crowds wrapped around his little finger”.

With no Brisbane date on this run of shows, it seems that 30 Seconds To Mars may just be swinging past Splendour In The Grass as well.

You can catch Thirty Seconds To Mars at following shows this July:

Saturday July 24th – Challenge Stadium, Perth
Wednesday July 28th – Festival Hall, Melbourne
Friday July 30th – Hordern pavilion, Sydney

Tickets on sale April 15th.

well being under 18 at the time, it was one of the very few shows in Melbourne I could go to, so I went along barely knowing many of their songs, and really enjoyed it. I was one of the few kids in my school who listened to stuff music that wasn't gangster rap.

I've sat through their terrible singles on rage and Video Hits etc. many times. It seems like they got played every week for a long time.

And to be perfectly honest, you only need to hear about 30 seconds of them to realise they are shit.

I'm getting tired of the splendour attachment with every band that announces a tour around august.
I do remember reading on here when the Breeders announced a tour around august in 2008 it was said to be waving a flag for likely being splendour bound. Did that pan out?

not keen to see them at splendour if they are playing. but i guess i'll go with how i feel at the time.
it wouldnt disappoint me if they were playing splendour coz they'd probably play at the same time as another band i'd want to see.
just like how architecture in helsinki played the same slot as the specials, and how hilltop hoods played the same time as flips (which i didnt even get to see)

i just discovered that a few years ago jared leto played mark david chapman in a movie. mark david chapman is the guy who shot john lennon. does anybody else see how incredibly appropriate that is? jared leto shoots john lennon every time he writes a song or takes the stage.

i apologise for what i just said to people who like that guy and his band, but he really is the antichrist.

They really do suck. I had to endure some of their set prior to getting a good spot for Editors at Werchter. If I count them in the bands I saw while away it makes 53. They don't deserve to be part of that list because if I ranked them it would be unfair to the 52nd best band.
