Metallica set to tour inNovember

In all the excitement over the riot provoked by Metallica’s recent show in Colombia, where 1,500 police and four tanks were deployed to manage the crowds, an important piece of news managed to slip through everyone’s fingers.

At a press conference on the day of the show in the Colombian capital, Bogotoa, the band revealed plans to play New Zealand and Australia in November.

Asked what the band’s plans for the future involve the band’s leadman James Hetfield laughed off rumours of an unplugged record before simply stating the answer of “Europe”.

Thankfully drummer Lars Ulrich was in a more talkative mood and delivered the news the Australian Metallica fans have been waiting to hear since the band last visited in 2004 – “We’re staying out and doing dates through November in Australia and New Zealand and then after that we’re going to take a little chill time.”

It seems as though the Australian dates will close the epic “World Magnetic Tour”, in support of the band’s ninth studio album Death Magnetic, which began way back on September 12th 2008.

That's certainly not was meant. Note in a later post I spoke about Ke$ha and Short Stack?

"Tried" as in watched or played?
I was a goalie for grass hockey for about three or four years when I was a kid. Don't remember much about it.

Watched? Fuck. In my time, I've tried to watch skateboarding, golf, soccer, rugby league, rugby union, wheelchair rugby (credit where credit's due - THAT shit is awesome), netball, baseball, lawn bowls, surfing, cage fighting and cricket, and probably some others I've forgotten. It's really not for me - I'm not much of a "bloke", so I guess that could be it.

I'm not much of a "bloke" but I still enjoy an epic amount of sport.

I got massive respect for any athlete. They have epic amounts of discipline that only rare handful of musicans execute. After some intense gigging schedules I went to a singing teacher to get a better understanding of how to treat my voice and my instrument. He bascially compared singing to like being a long distance runner if I plan to take it seriously. It's just as much physical as it is mental and skill and all that. So I gave up smoking, drinking and changed my diet. I exercise heaps and don't just stretch my vocal chords before a gig, but also my body. I think any serious musican that does it 24 / 7 needs the same kind of discipline as an elite athelte. So I've always seen them as very similar things and don't really feel there needs to be a divide. Both attract fantatics and within that group of fantatics you get your fair share of fuckholes. Quite often those fair share of fuckholes stereotype or give the sport (or band) a bad name.

Anyways, my 2 cents.

No-one's hate-fuelled posting in this thread or any other's will ever come close to your verbose little rants against me, Napoleon. They're only occasional these days but I tear up a little at pride that a complete stranger could fuel such a fire in one disgruntled human. One person can make a difference.

Still - "warped" view on music? That's a right larf.
You hold the typical grumpy elitist musical taste. If someone likes a band you don't - "you like mediocre shit, grumble mumble". If someone likes a band you also happen to like - "Errr I liked them before you" or "That album is shit, album X is better."

You're incredibly entertaining, dude, but for the love of Christ I wish you weren't so stone-faced in practically every thread that doesn't involve a lolgareth or two.

Wowzer, I was aware of your hypocritical nature but you've really gone and lifted your game to a whole new level. Anyone else and I would be surprised. It is quite easy to make baseless statements and pretend they are fact, that's the MAB way. But hey why start backing up your opinion with evidence now? Just continue to bleat like a lost sheep.
It is ironic that you find me so serious and stone faced yet you are the only one on here that get's so worked up that they transform into a 12 year old girl experiencing their first period.

Do you make a habit of adding complete strangers on facebook or texting them? I really wish you were a complete stranger. At the end of the day I have no problem with you the person, it's your bizarro opinions.
You watched half a season of NRL and you suddenly have the insight to claim that sport lacks passion and doesn't even compare to music. I was unaware that rugby league was the pinnacle of sport. I'm sorry but sometimes you ask for it it, you are freakin loopy.

Now how bout 'dem Metallica dudes?
