Birds of Tokyo' s 'The SaddestThing I Know' Tour

Armed with a fresh collection of button down shirts and a brand new single Birds Of Tokyo are back for a national tour in May and June.

With the single The Saddest Thing I Know leading the way, the shows will showcase tracks from the bands upcoming album, but Birds of Tokyo also promise to play all the fan favourites from the Day One and Universes albums.

New Zealand’s Midnight Youth are on board in the support slot for the tour.

Friday 28th May – Hi-Fi, Brisbane
Sunday 30th May – Uni Bar, Hobart
Friday 4th June – Palace Theatre, Melbourne
Saturday 5th June – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Sunday 6th June – The Gov, Adelaide
Thursday 10th June – Metro City, Perth

Tickets are on sale Thursday, April 8th

Ohh, right. All somewhat established Australian bands (or SEABs) have the exact same level of quality amongst the lot of them and therefore should all be treated equally. Gotcha. Gotta love those SEABs.

To be honest, I have nothing no qualms with the price of this gig, this is pretty standard fare for a venue the size of the Enmore (Bliss N Eso were $45 when they played the Enmore) so the price isn't really too bad.

I'd be happier if they were playing 2 Metro shows though.

It depends, though. You can still see great bands at really cheap prices - Die! Die! Die! are playing for fifteen bucks, whereas Whitney Houston's show was like 300 bucks.

The point I was trying to make is that I don't think seeing Birds of Tokyo live would be worth fifty bucks. I'm not talking about every Australian band or whatever, just my personal preference in relation to them.

Originally went on sale for $45 and then they dropped the price a week before the show to ensure that it would sell out.

thats the state of the music industry really, they're obviously gonna bump up ticket prices due to the lack of cd sales... and why shouldn't they, if they're worth it (to you) then pay the ticket price, if they're not then dont and quit your bitching.

I'd say its more like when they charged $30 for tix, they sold out and put on 2nd and 3rd shows which also sold out, so they figure, charge more for tix, and do less work..
Makes sense to me. If they have set the price too high, they won't sell out, and they'll have to make it cheaper next time, or go away and write some music that has some actual thought behind it, instead of template-rock of the last album.

i originally thoight $50 for tickets wasn't too bad, still don't think it is that bad, however i have seen bids of tokyo for cheaper.
i am still going to see them, they do put on a good live show, it has everything a rock show should have...also interested to hear some of their new songs...
