After a few years on the back burner, Strokes fever has hit us once again, and it’s hit hard. On the back of Friday’s announcement that the New York band’s frontman Julian Casablancas would be skipping over to Australia for a May tour with his solo band, there’s a good chance his Strokes cohorts aren’t far behind him, with Casablancas revealing to FL that we could see The Strokes over here for a tour in the middle of the year. Plot twist!
“I don’t know if it’s in stone, but we’ll see,” Casablancas hesitantly told FasterLouder in our exclusive interview with the Strokes rocker. “I think so, but I don’t want to say things without knowing 100% for sure.”
Whilst The Strokes weren’t a part of last week’s Splendour In The Grass clues, a festival birth for the NYC five-piece would make sense ahead of their proposed September album release.
“We’ll see what happens. Right now I’m just looking forward to my tour in May.”
